  1. Bank Negara Malaysia’s Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) to remain at 1.75% following the Monetary Policy Committee yesterday.

  2. Selangor’s state government announces Pakej Kita Selangor, economic stimulus package worth RM73.8 million. Under the package, 762 students’ loan have been written off after Yayasan Selangor’s review of recipients’ ability to pay. RM6 million have been allocated to provide free mass screening of Covid-19 as well.

  3. Maybank Kim Eng’s head of regional equity research Anand Pathmakanthan has advised investors to keep some glove stocks in their portfolio.

    Anand mentioned it will take a while to reach herd immunity and for the vaccines that are available, they’re only affected in reducing symptoms and not in stopping the people from contracting Covid-19. He expects demand for gloves to remain strong and average selling price (ASPs) of gloves is still trending up.
